THE FIRST LEAD ADVANCE GROUPS FOR THE PREPARATION OF THE NATO SUMMIT 2008 ARRIVED IN BUCHAREST
• The first
delegates from the first member states of The Organization of the North
Atlantic Treaty have already vizited the venues for the Summit and have
been briefed on the security measures that will be taken for the good
developing of the event in April
The lead advance groups from the 11 countries
participant in the NATO Summit in April, arrived in Bucharest in order
to be informed on the security measures connected to the event as well
as in order to perform field reconnaissance of the security objectives
and dispositions.
Specialiasts in security from Canada, Lithuania,
Great Britain, Norway, Holland, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia
Turkey and Hungary met in Bucharest with the leadership of The National Commandment for Security;
on this occasion they were briefed on the security plans and measures,
taken with a view to assuring a good developing of the event in April.
The activity of the lead advance groups is stipulated in the Security Concept of the event; their visit is focused on:
- the general presentation of the security measures established for the Palace of Parliament, Cotroceni Palace and Victoria Palace as well as for the accommodation places;
- the cooperation with The National Commandment for Security of the NATO Summit with a view to preparing the security measures to be taken during the event.
In the weeks to come lead advance groups from the
other NATO member states invited, states which are partners of the
Alliance will continue to come to Bucharest.
